This was designed as a commission based on the ill-fated Starlight Beacon from Star Wars' High Republic era.
The core shape of the Starlight Beacon is a circle with 12 evenly spaced protrusions. This proved to be difficult, as large circles, particularly those with connection points around their edges, as hard to come by in LEGO. However I soon developed my solution: a 9x9 'circle' using 4x4 quarter round plates with a stud of space between them made it so there would be 12 studs approximately evenly spaced around the border of the 'circle.'
The towers are also strange shapes, captured here with a combination of clips and brackets. The finer details are made from parts including a walkie-talkie, binoculars, a cupcake, and a few joysticks!
