The trapezoidal shape of the minifigure torso, Iron Forge's round 1 seed part, looked like the noses of the Na'vi from James Cameron's Avatar. I had just seen Avatar a day or two prior, so that also definitely influenced my decision to build this.

I used 6 minifigure torsos in the build, three in the chest, one for the nose, and two within the spear tip. For the hair, I braided LEGO string pieces together. I used minifigure arms (the ones I pulled out of the torsos) for his fingers. The band across his chest is a series of brown exo-force arms along a length of flex tube.
