This is a recreation of a 1989 Chevrolet half-ton short-bed pickup with extensive modifications to its frame, engine, and a classy paint job!
In designing this model, I started with the 7 stud wide front grille and moved backwards, using the recently released 1x2 inverted arches above the wheels. A complex interior assembly was necessary to mount the 4x3x1 mudguard part beneath them.
It was a delight working to bring this racing truck to life in LEGO form!

This model features a detailed underbelly which is entirely based on videos taken of the underside of the real vehicle. The replica suspension, though not functioning, is recreated using parts first introduced as cattle horns!
